teven Boone is an artist working within multi-disciplines.
Boone received his B.F.A. from The Maryland Institute, College of Art, Baltimore, with a degree in painting. After graduating, he set out to live in the southwest United States, attracted by the grand landscape and open space. He has made the art mecca that is Santa Fe, New Mexico, his home for over thirty years.
For almost two decades, Steven has owned his own gallery. This allows him greater freedom to experiment and show surprising and fresh work. Often, people comment at the range of work exhibited—landscape, portrait, still-life, and abstract paintings, mixed-media art, photography, and his Hang-Ups that are oil paintings with subject matter that verges on the absurd. One of Steven's HangUp paintings, Van Gogh, All Hung Up, is in the Van Gogh Foundation Museum in Arles, France. He is also represented with a landscape painting in the permanent collection of the United States Department of Interior.
In 2009, Boone's oldest daughter, Naomi, died after a heroic two year struggle with cancer. He took three years to write a book about her life, which has earned two awards. It is called,
A Heart Traced In Sand, Reflections On A Daughter's Struggle For Life.
Steven met his wife Lori when she modeled for art sessions. They have been married since 2010, and Lori manages the art gallery.
