"Don't forget me and my family!" These were the last words Abu Ez spoke to me when I left Luxor, Egypt in 2008. Since then, I have often thought of the family I had become close with, and wondered how they are—especially during the long seasons of turmoil in Egypt.

I met Abu Ez along the Nile River, and helped him by painting in nice English letters, the name of his youngest daughter, Amira, on his sailboat. He supports his family by sailing tourists on his little boat. The work is seasonal and with the trouble over there, the poor family must be poorer than when I visited.

I am going back to see Abu Ez in mid-September and will take him some needed funds. You can participate, and benefit too!

Buy a print for a donation. I will write about the meeting and share pictures of the family, now grown older after six years.
